If you’re considering a visit to SilverStar, our team has put together a list of must-do activities that you should experience at the resort. From tubing and ice skating to exploring the backcountry terrain, this list will keep you busy on your visit!

Go for a Slide at Tube Town

If you’re visiting SilverStar with youngsters — or young-at-heart adults — you should take a visit to Tube Town. Located beside the Silver Queen Chair in the heart of the village, this spot is just a walk out the door for many condo accommodations.

Tube Town features multiple lanes of safe, controlled winter tubing, with a convenient tube lift to get you back to the top of the run. Tubing is permitted for children three years of age and older, so slide your way into some fun with this awesome activity!

Lace-Up Your Skates at Brewer’s Pond

Brewer’s Pond is a scenic 2.5-acre natural rink, easily accessible from anywhere in the SilverStar village. Lit up at night, it’s a great spot to visit in the evening when there is music and an outdoor fire to keep your toes warm!

Grab some friends for a game of friendly pond hockey or your partner for a romantic skate after a day on the slopes. Skate rentals are available on-site and the rink is serviced by a Zamboni when weather permits. Soak in the beauty at Brewer’s Pond.

Switch It Up with Some Night Skiing

Want to get as much time on the slopes as possible? Why not enjoy some skiing underneath the stars? SilverStar has over 4km of beginner and intermediate runs available for night skiing from the main village.



All the terrain under the Silver Queen Chair, and select runs from the Gondola, are accessible. Night skiing runs on specific dates throughout the year, so make sure you check when booking your trip to ensure that your visit lines up with a night skiing slot.

Experience Canada’s Largest Groomed XC Network

Did you know that SilverStar is home to Canada’s largest daily-groomed, cross-country skiing network? Whether you’re a beginner or an XC aficionado, you have to experience the majestic wilderness that is accessible right from the heart of SilverStar’s mountain village.

Both skate and nordic groomed trails are available at a variety of skill levels. Explore the 55 km of trails at SilverStar or the linked network of 50 kms of additional trails, via the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre. Warming huts are interspersed throughout the network and make for excellent lunch stops! Nordic trails are open until 3:30pm daily plus there is a beautifully lit night loop to explore in the evenings.

Visit the Hairy Back Side of the Star

If you’re an experienced skier and you’ve explored the mellow front side of, you need to check out the famous Hairy Back Side too! Located on the backside of SilverStar Mountain, you will find a little bit of everything and a lot of something else, from one lonesome easy green run to a few cruising blues. Most importantly for the experienced skiers, the backside offers a ton of black and double black diamond runs with challenging, advanced terrain full of glades and chutes that will test even the best of skiers!

This is a great spot to hunt out hidden powder caches and experience the true wilderness of B.C. Stop for lunch at Paradise Camp on the backside and spend the whole day enjoying the exceptional terrain. You won’t be disappointed!
