This trip is back by popular demand. Join us! It will be fun.

NOTE: The Virginian Lodge where the group will be staying has a dedicated ski bus to Jackson Hole (under 30 minutes) and is approximately a 10-minute walk to Jackson Town Centre.

The Skiing and Mountain amenities
This is a skier's Mountain - Jackson Hole Mountain has over 130 named trails, including 50% expert, 40% intermediate, and 10% beginner. The mountain features 13 lifts, including Bridger Gondola and “Big Red”, the world-famous Aerial Tram with a capacity of 100 people. In just 9 minutes, the tram glides skyward to 4,139 vertical feet and offers a glimpse of the legendary chute, Corbet's Couloir (also try to find the 'Toilet Bowl'). The summit offers staggering 360-degree views of the Tetons and Jackson Hole Valley. If you're lucky, you may even witness a view of 'the sea of dreams,' a total cloud covering the valley floor, making you feel like you've ascended to heaven.

With 2500 acres of in-bound terrain there’s plenty of room to explore. While this mountain gets its reputation from the sheer amount of expert terrain it is also home to some of the most intermediate and learner-friendly runs. There are guest capacity limits daily, so you can enjoy wide-open runs and avoid feeling like you are dodging people at every turn.

Almost as legendary as Corbet's Couloir is the top-of-the-world waffles at Corbet's Cabin (takeaway available—Italian, Cobbler, Belgian) at the summit. Teton Village (at the base) is alive and strong, with several must-visit places, such as the Mangy Moose, with its laid-back and eclectic vibe, and The Spur, named "The Place to Après" by SKI magazine, with its amazing mixologists.

The Town of Jackson and other things to do
This is a cool and laid-back town. Enjoy the thriving farm-to-table foodie scene, its vibrant shopping, and rowdy nightlife. Everything is available here and reminiscent of a bygone day, making for a unique Ski Escape. Places not to miss include the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, The Jackson Town Square, and The Silver Dollar Bar at the Wort Hotel. You can find (line) dancing, bluegrass, brew nights, discos, and more weekly. The list goes on. Bin 22, The Kitchen, and Persephone Bakery are also fine eating establishments to try.

Close to the Virginian Lodge is the Jackson Hole Winery (7 minutes by car) and the Astoria Hot Springs (20 minutes by car). Additional snowy activities off the mountain: bike tours, aerial adventures, wildlife tours, sleigh rides, skating, snowmobiling.

Some history

  • Corbet's Couloir is named for Barry Corbet, a mountaineer who in 1960 spotted a narrow crease of snow shaped like an upside-down funnel, high up on the mountain now known as Jackson Hole. Said he: "Someday someone will ski that."
  • 1930 — John Wayne's first speaking part was in "The Big Trail," filmed in Jackson Hole. It was presumed to be the first time he rode a horse! More than 15 feature films have been made on location in Jackson Hole, including "Shane," "Spencer's Mountain," "Any Which Way You Can," and "Rocky IV."
  • 1967 — Jackson Hole hosted the final international race of the season, dubbed the Wild West Classic. The series of races ended the inaugural World Cup season by crowning Jean-Claude Killy of France and Nancy Greene of Canada as the year's world champions. Sports Illustrated magazine quoted Jean-Claude, saying, "If there is a better ski mountain in the United States, I haven't skied it."

This is not a boring place. It is steeped in history, nature, and adventure. Get in touch, and we will take you to Jackson Hole in 2025 in the company of a Skican Host and newfound friends.
