Ski Escape: Hakuba, Japan

From January 27 to February 6, 2026. Escape to Hakuba, Japan, in the heart of the Japanese Alps. World-class ski resorts with diverse slopes for all levels, vibrant après-ski activities, and rejuvenating onsen hot springs. LAND ONLY. Limited Availability.

This trip runs from January 27 to February 6, 2026.

Hakuba is the heart of big-mountain skiing in Japan. Located in the Japanese Alps in Nagano Prefecture, this region hosted events during the 1998 Winter Olympics and delivers serious terrain across ten ski resorts in one valley. Hakuba’s mountains rise steeply, offering up to 1,070 metres (3,500 feet) of vertical, with snowfall averaging 11 metres per year. February is when Hakuba shines — cold, dry powder and strong coverage across the valley.

This trip includes five days of skiing, with lift access to resorts like Happo-One, Cortina, and Tsugaike — each with a distinct character, offering long runs, off-piste zones, and sidecountry laps. While it draws international skiers, Hakuba still flies under the radar compared to Niseko, meaning fewer crowds and more room to explore.

Off the slopes, you’ll settle into the rhythm of mountain life in Japan: evening soaks in traditional onsens, group dinners in local restaurants, and time to slow down and experience the place. A visit to see the famous snow monkeys bathing in natural hot springs adds something few ski trips could offer — a true once-in-a-lifetime moment.

After landing in Tokyo Airport, hand off your extra bags to a shuttle driver and depart the airport by train and ride the Kagayaki Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo to Nagago at top speed while your skis are shipped and arrive a few hours after you do.  After skiing, a private shuttle brings you to your hotel in Tokyo and then spend two days in the city — visiting shrines, wandering neon-lit alleys, finding quiet in hidden gardens, or just taking in the view from the Tokyo Metropolitan Building. It’s a chance to see a very different side of Japan — and a fitting way to end the trip.

This isn’t just great skiing — it’s an experience that sticks with you. The mountains are big, the culture is deep, and this is the kind of trip you’ll talk about for years. Join us!
