This trip runs from January 24th to February 1st, 2025. Kitzbühel is an Ikon Pass destination. SOLD OUT!
Buckle up—this is going to be a cool trip. Innsbruck and Kitzbühel will be explored in one week, seven nights, and six days of skiing. This is a NEW Ski Escape from Skican. Why not jump in!?
Arrive with the group in Innsbruck, the Capital of Austria's Tirol, on January 25 for 3 nights. Settle in at the Hotel Das Innsbruck 4* and enjoy half board daily (breakfast and dinner). This modern hotel is in the heart of the city on the Inns Bridge, a great place to begin exploring. The medieval buildings painted in blues, yellows, and reds contrast with snow-covered peaks beyond, and traditional cafés and shops line the streets of the Old Town. Do a walkabout and check out coble-stoned roads and centuries-old nooks and crannies. Venture towards the University to sample the restaurants and bars to keep you entertained into the night.
Your 'Ski plus city pass Stubai Innsbruck' included in your trip package provides entry to 13 ski resorts (291 km of runs and accessible by a Free ski bus) around Innsbruck and in the Stubai Valley. Additionally, 23 other cultural attractions (like the Imperial Palace and the Golden Roof Museum) are within walking distance of the hotel. Obviously, bring your ski boots and good footwear for this portion of the trip.
Enjoy 3 days of skiing in the Innsbruck area with your pass at your discretion. You can ski quickly at Nordkette’s, which is the closest spot to the hotel – just hop on the linked funicular and cable car. And in just under an hour, you can head to Stubai Glacier and Kuhtai, Austria’s highest ski village. This glacier ski area has 65 km of super spacious high-altitude slopes, not to mention 360-degree views of 3,000 m summits. You'll find gentle blues to steep ski routes and a snow park for freestylers. When it’s time for a coffee stop, swing by the Steinbock Bar and soak up the scenery from the sun terrace.
Depart Innsbruck on January 28 by private transfer to Kitzbühel with a stop at Swarovski Crystal Worlds (on your City Pass). A joyful world of art installations, dazzling exhibits in the Chambers of Wonder, and the enchanting garden.
Arrive in Kitzbühel, in the Südberge Mountain Range, at the charming Hotel Rech 3* in the center of town for 4 nights. This hotel has been family owned for 150 years. Ski 3 days (233 km of slopes) with your Ikon Base Pass or purchased lift pass in your package. Enjoy breakfast each morning and walk to the Hahnenkammbahn cable car access point.
Kitzbühel’s famous for the fearsome Hahnenkamm World Cup race, but you don’t have to be a pro to ski here. From wide-open summit slopes to tree-lined valley trails, there’s plenty of pistes to keep intermediates cruising along. Ticking off the steep Streif downhill run is a must for adventurous skiers, but don’t miss the Resterhöhe area either to make the most of crisp snow on empty, high-altitude runs.
Nicknamed 'Glitzy Kitz', Kitzbühel is a world-renowned resort area known for its picturesque and chic village and exceptional skiing. It is an easy village to navigate with various first class shopping opportunities and cultural outposts like the Kitzbühel Museum. Foodies will like it here. There are 70+ places to dine (mountain huts and restaurants), and its cosmopolitan vibe means it strays from the usual Austrian fare (though you can still find plenty of that, too), and there are no less than eight Gault & Millau-rated restaurants. Enjoy a group dinner on January 30 (restaurant to be announced).
A bit of history - Franz Reisch, an influential ski pioneer, was the first to descend on skis from the Kitzbüheler Horn Mountain in 1893. Additional major Kitzbühel milestones include the construction of the Hahnenkammbahn cable car as the first ropeway for sport in Austria and introducing ski instruction in Kitzbühel under the leadership of Karl Koller. This is a great place to learn the Austrian technique of skiing.
Depart this magical place on January 31 by private transfer to Munich Airport. Brag to your friends and see you next year.
